Getting Ready for the Top 200 . . . .
A Dialogue Leads to History. Or at least Evolution.
A: "So, on my Top 100 page, there is a picture of Gil Hodges, Roy Campanella, and Duke Snider. Next to Gil Hodges, I put 'Top 200,' just to have something to put."
K: "Do you really think he would be in the Top 200."
A: "Oh yeah, definitely."
K: "It definitely seems like there are enough first basemen out there that Gil Hodges might not make it."
A: "Well, I mean there are plenty of good first basemen, but I don't think there are enough to keep Hodges off of the Top 200."
S: "You know, you might be thinking of Orlando Cepeda."
K: "Actually, I do get them confused. I can't tell them apart."
A: "Well, a good place to start is their physical characteristics."
K: "You know what I mean . . . "
S: "So, first basemen. Fred McGriff, definitely. Will Clark. Tony Perez maybe?"
K: "Norm Cash."
A: "Jack Fournier, George Sisler."
. . . . . . . . . .
