Asher,
I read your article about Jeff Bagwell and steriods. Could you share with me the research and sources you may have used? I'm a long time Houstonian and Bagwell fan.

Robert,
Thanks so much for writing. I too am a big Jeff Bagwell fan, having grown up in New Orleans and attended many Astros games in my time. I have him ranked as the 49th greatest player of all time. However, with regard to The Bagwell Conspiracy . . . its a joke. A very long satire which kind of poked fun at the whole steroids thing. I write the Bagwell Conspiracy before Jose Canseco wrote his book and actually gave validity to the assertion that steroids actually spread through the league simply from player to player.
Actually, I was being ironic by making Bagwell the center of the controversy, because I think Bagwell is one of the players who is least consumed by the "pop-life" in Major League Baseball.
Thanks for writing.

Asher,
Thanks for clarifying that. I think you should post the remarks you just made to me on your website. Your article has been referenced on Houston sports radio 610 and there was no awareness (apparently) of this being a satire. Neither, however, was it treated super seriously. It was just mentioned by a guy calling into the program and the announcer mentioned where the article could be found.
